Hops

Hops are primarily used in the brewing of beer, but have other herbal uses. Hops are easy to grow in a variety of soil conditions, but do best in well drained, organic soils. Vines (technically called “bines”) can grow 20-30 feet in a season, die back to the ground in the winter, and start again the following spring.
